(Huxley) The Atlantic Trojans hit the road to Huxley tonight for a Class 3A Substate quarterfinal boys’ basketball game against the Ballard Bombers. Ballard enters the contest with an 18-2 record, while Atlantic stands at 4-17.
The Trojans closed out their regular season on a high note, winning their last two games. Head Coach Dalton Franken says his team is playing with more confidence and has shown great fight in recent weeks. He highlighted rebounding and limiting second-chance points as key areas of improvement.
Next up is a tough challenge against Ballard. Coach Franken acknowledges the strength of the Bombers, led by standout point guard Jude Gibson. The 6’1″ junior averages 16 points per game, along with 64 assists and 2.4 steals.
Ballard also boasts two other key scorers—Jackson Brown, averaging 12 points per game, and Parker Miller, contributing 10 per contest.
For the Trojans, Gavin McLaren leads the way with 13.15 points per game, followed by Kinnick Juhl at 10.12 and Grant Petty adding 7.62.
Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m., with live coverage on 95.7 FM. Pre-game begins at 6:40 p.m.
