(Red Oak) Two people, including a juvenile, suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Montgomery County.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was notified on Tuesday afternoon at around 3:42 p.m. of an automatic crash detection in the 2100 block of Hickory Avenue south of Red Oak.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a 2019 Jeep Wrangler resting on its top in the west ditch. According to the report, 42-year-old Ryan Adams of Red Oak and a juvenile passenger were traveling south on Hickory Avenue when, for unknown reasons, the Jeep entered the west ditch, struck a power pole, and rolled onto its top.
Adams was airlifted to the Nebraska Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Red Oak Rescue transported the juvenile to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.
Authorities say the accident is under investigation, and charges and/or citations are pending the outcome.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Red Oak Police Department, Red Oak Fire and Rescue, Iowa State Patrol, and the Nebraska State Patrol.
