Class 1A Regional Girls Tennis Tournament Crowns Singles and Doubles Champions in Atlantic

(Atlantic) Ten teams competed at the Class 1A Regional Girls’ Individual Tennis Tournament in Atlantic on Wednesday.

Charlotte Schwabe of Kuemper Catholic defeated Chandy Nothwehr of Clarinda in the finals to win the Regional Singles title and a trip to the State Tennis Tournament. Nothwehr also qualified for the state tournament.

Kate Kelley and Maria Ernest of Bishop-Heelan defeated Lyla Mather and Ali Hansen of Shenandoah for the Regional doubles title. Both advance to the State Individual Tennis Tournament on October 7 & 8 at Waukee Northwest High School.

The State Team Tennis Tournament is on October 12^th and 13^th at Waukee Northwest.
