(Audubon, IA) — Audubon is the number one team in 8 Man and they looked like it on Friday night beating CAM 83-14 in District 9 action.
The Wheelers make it running clock at the 2:31 mark of the first quarter and led 51-0 at the half.
Audubon scored on their first play from scrimmage on a Mason Kasperbauer 64 yard TD. Aiden Kjergaard added a 15 yard TD run and Karter Obermeier punched one in from 7 yards out to make it 21-0.
The Wheelers then went to the air — Kjergaard found Ty Bowlin on a pretty pass across the middle for a 29 yard TD pass and then the Cougars fumbled it on their next drive and Bowlin picked up and had an easy short TD run to make it 36-0.
Kjergaard found Jorgen Nowatzke for a 12 yard TD pass and just before the half, Mason Kasperbauer picked off CAM’s Zach Kaufman and returned it about 10 yards for another score.
In the 3rd quarter, Nowatzke got a 48 yard TD run to make it 59-0. Kjergaard later added a 66 yard TD run and threw a 21 yard TD pass to Alex Henkle. Brody Otten got the final score for Audubon on a 3 yard TD run.
CAM went three and out on their first three drives and did not get a first down until the 2nd quarter. The Audubon stats had the Cougars with -2 total rushing yards. CAM did get some passing yards as Kaufman found Carson McKee on a beautiful 65 yard TD pass midway through the 3rd quarter. Later in the 3rd quarter, Kaufman found Calen Anstey for a 27 yard pass play that set up a William Rouse 3 yard TD run.
Audubon, however, dominated with 467 yards of total offense to 213 for the Cougars.
For the Wheelers, Ty Bowlin scored his first ever varsity touchdowns — one on offense and one on defense.
