(Audubon, IA) — The last time Exira EHK Audubon wen to the state softball tournament, they used six seniors plus then freshmen Riley Miller and Taryn Petersen played a big part. This year, the Spartans rely on players from all classes.
Sophomore Bryli Petersen has raised her average from .227 to hitting .356 this year with 4 HR and 25 RBI. She says she has concentrated on keeping her swing level and she tries to not think back on previous at bats, just focusing on one at bat at a time. She says this team is focused on winning
Sophomore Lucy Stanerson has also improved her hitting going from .227 and 9 RBI to .320 with 20 RBI and solidifying third base
Sophomore Brooklyn Snider has contributed off the bench and loves being a part of the team
Meet the Spartans airs tomorrow at 10 am on 96.5 KSOM and will have complete interviews with the entire team; Exira EHK Audubon will play Edgewood Colesburg in their first game of the double elimination state tournament tomorrow at Noon, coverage on KSOM.
