(Red Oak) One person has been arrested for operating while intoxicated first offence following a single vehicle accident in Montgomery County.
At around 3:02 AM om July 18, the Montgomery County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting an accident in the 1700 block of 270th street south of Red Oak. Deputies with the Montgomery County Sherriff’s office and Officers with the Red Oak Police Department arrived and made contact with the driver, 18 year old Ace Edgar Wilkins of Red Oak, who was the only occupant.
Deputies determined that Wilkins was east bound on 270th street in a 2012 Ford Explorer when he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its top in the east bound lane of 270th street. The Montgomery County Sherriff’s office reported that the Ford was a total loss, but Wilkins was not injured.
Wilkins was charged with operating while intoxicated first offense and cited for both failure to maintain control and failure to provide proof of financial liability. Wilkins was transported to the Montgomery County Jail where he is being held on a $1000 bond.
