(Lincoln, NE) — Fred Hoiberg has made two new additions on Friday via the transfer portal. Nebraska men’s basketball has added Kadyn Betts from Minnesota and Montana and Trevan Leonhardt from Utah Valley.
Betts is a 6’8″ forward from Pueblo, CO who only got into 9 games last season for Montana because of a season ending injury. Previously, Betts was at Minnesota where he averaged 1.4 points in 22 games with Gophers as a sophomore. For his career, Betts is 12 of 31 from three point land for 38.7 percent. Betts was once a top 100 prospect by Prep Hoops for the class of 2023 — he comes from a basketball family with his father playing at San Diego St and his brother at Air Force.
Leonhardt is a 6’4″ guard from Kaysville, UT who started every game the last two seasons for the Wolverines. Last season, Leonhardt averaged a career high 11.9 ppg and was solid from three point land, shooting 42 of 114 for 36.8 percent. He also averaged 6.0 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game and also broke the single season assists record at Utah Valley.
Both players have one season of eligibility remaining.
