(Lenox, IA) — Ada Hansen is fast and she proved it on Tuesday night in Lenox. Hansen set a new PR in the 400 Hurdles and ran the 2nd fastest time in the state, achieving the blue standard to qualify automatically for the Drake Relays. Hansen posted a time of 1:03.41 and became one of 6 runners to get the blue standard of 1:04.50. The only person to run faster than Hansen this year in the 400 lows is Elise Coghlan of ADM at 1:03.05. Hansen also won the 100 Hurdles, anchored the Sprint Medley relay to a first place and missed a fourth gold as the 4×100 relay team finished 2nd.
CAM won both the boys and girls meet in Lenox — the boys had 137 points to Lenox in 2nd with 91 while the girls had 138 points with Lenox in 2nd with 111.
The Cougar girls also went 1 – 2 in the Shot Put with Stella Beattie in first (33-02) and Bailey Lillard 2nd (32-03.50).
On the boys side, Zach Kauffman was first in the 800 and 2nd in the one mile and Collin Bower won the 110 Hurdles. The Cougars won three relays (4×100, 4×200 and 4×800). The 4×100 team did not improve their time of 44.60 and are currently on the outside looking in for going to the Drake Relays — they are ranked 97th in the state with 96 qualifying.
Other highlights from Lenox meet
Brody Crozier won the 100 meter dash for Southwest Valley with a time of 11.22 and also won the Long Jump at 20-04.75. Caleb Owen won the Shot Put with a throw of 47-00.50. The Timberwolves won the Shuttle Hurdle relay at 1:05.73 with Gavin Wetzel, Wyatt Shires, Walker Bissell, and Wyatt Mendenhall.
For Lenox, McKinzie Menefee was first in the 200 (26.93), first in the 400 (1:05.38), and 2nd in the 100 (12.89); Addison Junker won the 800 (2:42.52), 1500 (6:07.99) and Long Jump (14-11). For the Tiger boys, Brandon Ramirez won the 400 (1:02.23), Caden Kaufman won the 400 Hurdles (55.58), Cade Cordell won the 1600 (5:10.41) and Lenox won the Sprint Medley (1:46.40), and Distance Medley (4:07.01).
