Iowa State Patrol Releases More Information on Clinton County Fatal Accident

(Clinton County) The Iowa State Patrol released the name of the person killed in a fiery crash in Clinton County.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened around 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at 2771 190th Street in DeWitt. Authorities say 46-year-old Trisha Brookins of Dubuque died in the crash.

According to the report, Brookins, the driver of a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica traveling westbound on 190th Street just west of 280th Avenue, is believed to have had a medical event, causing the vehicle to enter the south ditch, enter a field, before colliding with a house. The vehicle and the residence became fully engulfed in flames.

Trisha Brookins was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny.

The accident remains under investigation.
