(Atlantic) A pickup driver led law enforcement on a pursuit that started early this morning on Highway 71 north of Atlantic and ended in southern Cass County.
Cass County Deputy Josh McLaren patrolling Highway 71 south of the Valley, ran radar on a northbound pickup at 82 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone. Deputy McLaren initiated a traffic stop, and the pickup driver took off.
Deputy McLaren says the no plated Ford F250 headed south on Olive Street, traveling at 94-miles per hour as it entered City limits. The pickup driver sped through Atlantic on Olive Street and nine miles south to Richland Road, to 590th, and then Yankton Road.
The Atlantic Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, and the Audubon and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office’s assisted the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
