(Red Oak, IA) — Red Oak Country Club hosted the Corner Conference Co Ed Golf meet and Sidney won the girls meet with a 417 ahead of East Mills with a 441 and Griswold finished 3rd with a 506 — only three teams qualified. Fremont Mills won the boys with a 361 ahead of East Mills with a 372; Hamburg third with a 399; Griswold 4th at 406; Sidney 5th with a 424 and Essex 6th with a 532.
Keith Thompson won the boys meet with an even par 72 with 4 birdies, 4 bogeys and 10 pars. Anderson Bakehouse of East Mills was 2nd with an 82, 10 strokes back. Rowen Howe of Fremont Mills finished 3rd with an 84; Gabriel Casey of Sidney was 4th with an 86 and Traegan Hensley of Bedford rounded out the top five with an 87.
Low round for the Griswold boys was Brayden Lockwood with a 91 and was in 7th place. Nollan Smith had a 94 (10th); Colten Taylor shot a 107 (23rd); Callen Keiser a 114 and Calden Turner a 115.
Alyssa Dowling of Sidney won the girls with an 82 and a commanding 19 stroke victory — she was the only girl to break 100. Dowling started on hole 9 with a par and went six over on her next four holes. She parred 15 and bogeyed 17 and 18 to make the turn with a 43. The front nine was a different story with a birdie on holes one and two — she went 5 over on her next four holes but recovered again for pars on her final three holes.
Loycee Palmer of East Mills was 2nd with a 101; Addyson Foster of Sidney 3rd with a 109; Riley Vasquez of East Mills 4th with a 110 and Kate Tischer of Griswold rounded out the top five with a 111.
Also for the Tigers, Abigail Henderson was 10th with a 118; Addallyn Phelps shot a 131 and Miley Kelly a 146.
