(Avoca, IA) — AHSTW girls had some solid performances in last night’s conference meet at Missouri Valley — particularly in the relays. The 4×400 won with a season PR of 4:12.93 with Bella Lamp, Ava Paulsen, Macey Goshorn and Kennedy Wyman which ranks 4th in Class 1A. The 4×800 with Ava Paulsen, Lamp, Makenna Paulsen and Goshorn that won at 10:11.84 that is a season PR and ranked 6th in Class 1A. Head Coach Traye Pelzer is real confident in his 4×800 and says he has options for his line up
Lamp is coming off a major foot injury last year and has had to deal with some minor things on the comeback trail. She posted a strong time in the 400 Hurdles early in the season but has not been able to improve on that — Pelzer says she has to develop confidence
Addie Carroll finished 2nd in the discus last night and currently ranks first among the regional competitors next Thursday at 116-09. She also runs the one mile which Pelzer says is a unique combination
AHSTW will compete Thursday in Corning at the Southwest Valley Co Ed meet; they will also compete next Tuesday in a make up meet hosted by Sidney and will go to Fremont Mills for the State Qualifying meet next Thursday.
