(Denison) Kuemper Catholic edged out the competition by the slimmest of margins Wednesday at the Hawkeye Ten Conference Golf Tournament held at Majestic Hills Golf Course in Denison.
The Knights posted a team score of 321, narrowly finishing ahead of Shenandoah at 322 and Atlantic at 323.
Kuemper was led by Braxton Vonnahme, who captured the individual conference title with a 5-over-par 74. Jack Lenz added a fifth-place finish with a 78, while Brenten Loeffelholz placed 20th with an 84 and Collin Venteicher took 21st with an 85 to complete the team scoring.
For Shenandoah, Ethan Laughlin led the way with a third-place 78. Clay Foutch followed in ninth with an 80, while JJ Martin placed 13th with an 81 and Logan Twyman finished 17th with an 83.
Atlantic’s top performer was Brady Wood, who finished seventh with a 79. Hudson McLaren placed 10th with an 80, and both Gage Gross and Sam Brosam recorded rounds of 82. Jack Muller fired an 88, and Braxton Hass a 94.
Harlan placed fourth overall, highlighted by Cade Neve’s runner-up finish with a 77. Collin Burchett took sixth with a 78, while Owen Neve (88) and Drake Nippert (90) finished 28th and 33rd, respectively.
