(Atlantic) Ankeny Centennial delivered a strong performance at the Bruce Henderson Relays in Atlantic on Monday, capturing the team title with 128.5 points. The Jaguars secured first place in three events and added three runner-up finishes to seal the victory.
Elise Benning led the way in the field events, winning the discus with a throw of 108-6. Anna Woods claimed another individual title by clearing 5-2 in the high jump. On the track, the quartet of Erwin, Sandholm, Mohr, and Jackson took first in the 4×200-meter relay, posting a time of 1:49.05.
Ankeny Centennial also earned second-place finishes in the 4×800-meter relay, the long jump—where Teagan Jackson recorded a mark of 16-9.50—and the 3,000 meters, with Trinity Klingensmith finishing in 11:27.81.
Atlantic placed second overall with 104 points, highlighted by several standout performances. Lila Wiederstein won the 100-meter dash in a season-best 12.21, while teammate Braeleigh Hass finished third with a personal-best 12.68. Jayci Reed added a win in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.61. Adler Bruce finished in seventh, and Wiederstein also topped the long jump field with a leap of 17-6.50.
Atlantic’s shuttle hurdle relay team claimed first place in 1:09.05. Adler Bruce helped the team take the lead on the third leg before Reed pulled away in the anchor leg. Aiza Jones and Emerie Jones rounded out the winning lineup. The 800 Sprint Medley Relay finished in sixth place with Van Aernam, Meyer, Middents, and Mendez-Cordero in 1:58.55. The Distance Medley Relay Team of A. Jones, Hagen, Meyer, and Brock finished in fourth place in 4:47.98. The 4×100 Meter Relay Team of Bruce, Wiederstein, Hagen, and Reed finished fourth in 53.60, and the 4×400 Meter Relay team of Hass, Mendez-Cordero, Meyer, and Benning finished in fourth place in 4:39.56.
The Trojans added a second-place finish in the 4×200-meter relay (1:51.54) with Taylee Hagen, Hass, Allison Middents, and Stellah Van Aernam. They placed fourth in both the 4×100-meter relay (53.26) and the 4×400-meter relay (4:39.56), and sixth in the sprint medley relay (1:58.55).
Other notable Atlantic results included Katrina Williams finishing fourth in the high jump (4-8), and fifth in the 400 Meter Hurdles, (1:15.62) Olivia Olson placing fifth in the shot put (33-1.25) and fourth in the discus (102-10), and Emerie Jones taking fifth in the long jump (16-0.75). Additionally, Faith Larsen finished sixth in the Discus (100-08), Emerie Jone fifth in the Long Jump, 16-00.75.

Harlan led off the meet with a first-place finish in the 800 Sprint Medley Relay in a time of 1:53.35 with Daniels, Sonderman, Wegner, and Heslink carrying the baton. Lili Denton of S. Albert followed with a win in the 3000 in a time of 10:40.25. Denton later anchored the Distance Medley Relay to a win at 4:23.60. Ashlyn Rau finished second in the 800 Meters in 2:30.40. The quad of Wegner, Sonderman, Van Baale, and Heslink won the 4×400 Meter Relay in 4:15.10. Cora Smith of Creston won the 200 Meters in 26.03 and the 400 Meters in 59.18. Julia Heslink of Harlan finished a close second in a time of 59.22. Delayna Reese if Lewis Central outdistanced the field in the 800 Meters in 2:25.22. Ashlyn Rau of Harlan finished second in a time of 2:30.40. Madelyn Hoss finished first in the 1500 Meters in 4:54.47, and teammate Madelyn Hoss won the 800 Meters in 4:54.47. The Cyclones also won the 4×400 Meter Relay with Wegner, Sonderman, Van Baale, and Heslink in 4:15.10.
Glenwood dominated in the 4×800 relay as Grace Berglund ran away from Ankeny Centennial in the anchor leg and posted a 10:13.23. Grace Berglund finished second in the 1500 Meters in 4:56.14. Glenwood finished second in the 4×400 Meter Relay in 4:26.18. The baton carriers included Harms, Hughes, Houser, and Schulte. Glenwood finished first and second in the Shot Put. Maggie Smith of Glenwood finished first with a throw of 33-08.25, and Ava Hernandez, also of the Rams, finished second in 33-07.75.
Clarinda won the 4×100 Meter Relay with 4×100 Meter Relay with Barnes, Wagoner, Meier, and Bird in 51.23.
