(Council Bluffs, IA) — The Community Foundation for Western Iowa will have a giving Tuesday today. All day long, community members and nonprofits are encouraged to come to the Community Foundation’s office for check presentations from area organizations. The day will culminate with an event at Full Fledged Brewing Company from 4:30 to 7 pm to “celebrate the success and generosity of Giving Tuesday.”
SHARE Iowa is taking the lead of Giving Tuesday — SHARE Iowa is an online platform where individuals can donate to multiple nonprofits in 9 Western Iowa counties. SHARE Iowa takes financial giving, in kind donations of items and volunteerism. Currently, there are more than 270 nonprofits that partner with SHARE Iowa.
The Community Foundation will offer a 20 percent match on endowment gifts in honor of Giving Tuesday. There will be $100,00 available on charitable gifts to endowment funds through December 12 or until the pool is depleted. Match money is available up to $10,000 per donor.
