(Missouri Valley, IA) — The Western Iowa Conference Track and Field meet was held on Tuesday night and Treynor and Riverside both put on a show. The Cardinals won the girls meet by 68 points over Riverside; the Bulldogs won the boys meet by 27 points over Treynor.
Dawson Henderson for the Bulldogs was 1st in 3200 at 9:52.81 which is a season PR and ranks 5th in Class 1A — Dawson also won in the 4×400 relay with Cole Jeppesen, Owen Fenner and Jaxon Gordon that posted a season PR of 3:25.38 and that time ranks 2nd in Class 1A. His brother Brody won the 1600 with a season PR of 4:36.38 and ranks 7th in Class 1A. Gordon also won the 100 Hurdles.
Cauy Konz of Treynor was a four time winner in the 100, 200, 4×100 and Shuttle Hurdle.
Collin Harder of AHSTW won the 800 and the 400, posting a season PR time of 50.12 seconds in the later which ranks third in Class 1A.
On the girls side, Rylee Hemmingsen of Treynor became a four time conference champ winning the 100 (12.77, season PR, 19th in Class 2A), 1st in 200 (26.92, season PR), 1st in 100 Hurdles (14.71, season PR by .01 seconds, 1st in Class 2A), and 1st in High Jump (5-04, tied season high, Tied 4th in Class 2A).
Riverside had two first place relays — 1st in Sprint Medley (Ella Reed, Adaline Martens, Arabella Singleton, Olivia Lund 1:55.30, season PR, 14th in Class 1A); 1st in 4×200 (Kayden Schnack, Adaline Martens, Arabella Singleton, Olivia Lund 1:50.87).
AHSTW had some strong relays — the 4×400 won with a season PR of 4:12.93 with Bella Lamp, Ava Paulsen, Macey Goshorn and Kennedy Wyman which ranks 4th in Class 1A. The 4×800 with Ava Paulsen, Lamp, Makenna Paulsen and Goshorn that won at 10:11.84 that is a season PR and ranked 6th in Class 1A.
Annabelle Blum of IKM Manning was 1st in Long Jump, leaping 16-06, season PR, went from 48th to 15th in Class 1A.
