Guthrie County Sheriff’s Department Reports 2 Vehicle Accident Near Bayard

(Bayard) The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office cited a Dayton, Iowa, woman following a two-vehicle crash on Thursday.

According to the report, 20-year-old Ava Elizabeth Brunner was cited for failing to maintain control after rear-ending a 2019 Chevy Equinox driven by 62-year-old Brenda Lee Clouse of Guthrie Center.

The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at 10:45 p.m. in the area of Highway 141 and Juniper Avenue near Bayard. Brunner told the Deputy she fell asleep at the wheel, and awoke when her 2018 Ford Escape, which she was driving, struck the rear-end of the Equinox.

Both drivers escaped injury.
