(Red Oak) The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Pottawattamie County man on drug-related charges.
Deputies arrested 54-year-old David Michael Benkis of Council Bluffs following a traffic stop on Highway 48 and 170th Street. Â Officers took Benkis into custody on a felony Omaha warrant for possession of a dangerous drug.
Officers transported Benkis to the Montgomery County Jail. They slapped him with an additional charge of bringing contraband into a correctional facility when officers discovered Benkis hiding a controlled substance, Methamphetamine in his pants.
Benkis is in jail awaiting extradition to Omaha on his warrant.
