(Council Bluffs) The Atlantic boy’s golf team is heading to the district golf tournament. The Trojans finished runner-up to ADM on Wednesday in the Sectional Tournament hosted by Council Bluffs, Lewis Central, at the Whispering Woods Golf Course.
The Trojans bounced back after falling one stroke short on Monday to Kuemper for the Hawkeye Ten Conference Crown.
ADM fired a 303 for the sectional title. Grant Hickey led the Tigers with a 73, Finn Garton shot 75, Grant Jensen, 77, Easton Korell, 78, Carter Madison, 79, and Lincoln Bartwart finished with an 81.
The Trojans finished with a 313. Freshman Gage Gross led the way for Atlantic with a 75, Hudson McLaren shot 77, and Tristan Hayes and Roth Den Beste finished with 80s on the par 71 course. Sam Brosam shot 81, and Brady Wood carded an 89.
Atlantic will host the district tournament for a trip to state on Monday at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club.
