(Council Bluffs) A man is in custody on Attempted Murder and other charges for allegedly shooting a woman while driving a vehicle on Interstate 80 in Council Bluffs.
Police say the victim walked into the emergency department at the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a gunshot wound and told officers she had been driving westbound on I-80 near South 24th Street when she spotted her ex-boyfriend driving alongside her vehicle.
Investigators say multiple shots were fired, with two bullets striking her cell phone and another hitting her in the shoulder. The woman then drove to a friend’s house, and the friend took her to the hospital.
Her injuries are not considered life-threatening. Police later located the suspect, identified as a 40-year-old male, facing charges of attempted murder, violation of a no-contact order, and other weapons charges. Authorities did not release his name.
