(Exira, Elk Horn, Kimballton, IA) — Exira EHK baseball went winless in the 2026 season but Head Coach Trey Petersen saw some improvement especially on the mound. He says there were a couple of games that the Spartans should have won but they were not able finish those games off. However, in some ways it was incredible that the school had a baseball season at all. Petersen says they lost some players late and nearly did not have enough kids to start the season so some young kids were kind of thrown to the wolves

The future of Exira EHK baseball is in doubt — the Audubon School Board has a vote this Thursday to decide on whether to merge baseball and other sports with the Spartans and it could start next summer. Petersen is all for the merger
Audubon will host an athletic sharing community meeting at the high school tonight at 7 pm.
The four seniors for Exira EHK are Austin Rasmussen, Owen Juhl, Preston White and Gus Greving.
