(Des Moines) A new study from Wallethub ranks Iowa third in the nation for having one of the best health care systems, following New Hampshire and Minnesota.
The study shows Iowa scored well for lower out-of-pocket costs, access to medical care and shortest emergency room waits. 93% of adults and 97% of children have health insurance, both placing in the top percentages in the country.
It also points out that Iowa has the third-best hospital system in the nation and some of lowest inpatient hospital costs.
