(Red Oak) The Red Oak City Council adopted the Regional Planning Affiliates 13 and 18 Safe Streets and Roads for All Comprehensive Safety Action Plan.
The plan identifies roadway safety strategies, potential projects and funding opportunities aimed at reducing traffic fatalities and serious injuries.
The resolution commits Red Oak to a goal of zero roadway fatalities and serious injuries by 2050 and calls for the city to incorporate the plan’s strategies into future transportation projects, policies and programs when practical.

Adopting the plan does not approve a specific construction project or expenditure, but it positions the city to pursue future SS4A funding for eligible safety improvements. Participating communities were asked to adopt the plan by September 30 to meet grant reporting requirements.
