The Knights win their 9th career state championship as they 10 run rule the Mohawks. The score was deceiving — the game was tied 0-0 until Newman Catholic scored 7 runs in the bottom of the 5th and all coming with two outs. Logan Vaske provided the big hit — a Grand Slam HR to make it 7-0. Mason City Newman is now tied with Lansing Kee for the 2nd most state titles ever, two behind Davenport Assumption with 11.
