(Anita, IA) — CAM’s Baseball Team finished with a solid 15-10 record in 2026 although Head Coach Mick Long admits it was disappointing to lose in the 2nd round and not get a shot at Coon Rapids Bayard in the District Finals. The Cougars had two players earn All District Honors — Junior Carson McKee hit .449 with 18 RBI and Sophomore Zach Kauffman batted .420 with 1 HR and 24 RBI. Long says they were impact hitters
Long says the biggest emphasis in the off season will be to improve the pitching. McKee was the leader on the mound with a 3.80 ERA but the team earned run average was 5.46. Long says the kids need to be more focused and get stronger
One big achievement for CAM was 203 stolen bases this season which is a new team record says Long
CAM loses just one senior starter — CF and Pitcher Collin Bower plus Bryce Zimmerline who saw action in a handful of games.
