(Griswold, IA) — Griswold and CAM came together in softball last season and produced a 25-6 record and there is no reason to think that the Tigers will not get over the 20 win mark again. Sophomore Ailey Wahlert had a big year in the circle and at the plate going 15-5 with a 2.55 ERA with 146 strikeouts plus hit .413 with 5 HR and 37 RBI and was named third team all state. Head Coach Jody Rossell says she can only get better
The line up will have to replace four key starters but there is plenty coming back — Junior Amanda Houser hit .333; Freshman Keely Kinney hit .324, 2 HR, 20 RBI; Senior Daphna Wahlert batted .246; Junior Carsyn Adams is the lead off hitter at a .416 clip with 23 RBI and 21 stolen bases and then there is Junior Catcher Courtney Follmann who hit an impressive .363, 5 HR and 39 RBI
The Tigers have won at least 20 games the last five seasons but have yet to make a trip to the state tournament. Rossell says they cannot focus on that before the start of this season
Griswold CAM will open their season on Tuesday, May 26 at East Mills.
