(Dubuque County) The driver of a pickup suffered serious injuries in a collision with a tractor pulling an anhydrous ammonia tank in Dubuque County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at around 5:25 p.m. Monday, on the westbound Highway 20 at the 306th mile marker. Authorities say 64-year-old Dean Dettbarn of Dyersville, Iowa, was transported by Epworth EMS to Mercy One Hospital in Dubuque with life-threatening injuries.
According to the report, a westbound 2006 Ford F150 pickup driven by Dettbarn struck a westbound 9620RX tractor driven by 25-year-old Levi Pfab, of Epworth, pulling an anhydrous toolbar with a tank in tow. Both units came to rest on the north shoulder.
The accident remains under investigation.
