(Greenfield, IA) – On Wednesday morning, Nodaway Valley’s Genevieve Livingston officially signed on to play volleyball at Buena Vista University for the 2024-25 season. Genevieve said that Buena Vista originally wasn’t on her radar at first, but with some advice from Athletic Director Sara Honnold, she found it was a perfect fit for not only her athletic but also her academic career to study Biomedical Engineering and Psychology.
Livingston is already prepared for the college game. Throughout her high school career, she had to transition from being a middle over to a strong side hitter. College coaches like to adjust where players play on the floor, and with her ability to not only hit on the outside, but jump serve, and pass in the back row, she will fit right in with the Beavers.
When you start as a freshman on a college squad, you want to get out on the floor as soon as you can. Livingston sees herself playing as a freshman; fighting for the starting spots on the floor with the other talent that Buena Vista is bringing in this upcoming season.
Livingston is prepared to jump right into the college atmosphere. She is looking forward to joining a few clubs and getting right into the competitive nature of college volleyball.
Genevieve will be joining a Beavers team that went 6-18 overall and 0-8 in the American Rivers Conference.
