(Creston, IA) – Southwestern Community College will be getting a top athlete from Creston to run for their track and cross-country teams next season. Brandon Briley has officially signed his letter of intent to run for the Spartans after being one of the top athletes in track and field for Creston for the last few years.
Briley has had some impressive times throughout his career, including 52.46 in the 400-meter dash, 1.58.80 in the 800-meter, 4:32.73 in the 1,600-meter run, and also ran 10:10.65 in the 3,200-meter run. Southwestern Spartans Coach Scott Vicker said, “Brandon has been a big part of Creston’s track lineup all four years of high school and has shown some impressive range in the events he can handle. I’m looking forward to helping him transition into cross country. I believe as he starts to add more mileage to his training, he will be a great cross-country runner for us.”
Brandon is the son of Chad and Treana Briley of Creston and has been an intricate piece to the Panthers track team this season. He will be running with Creston on Thursday at Atlantic which starts at 4:00 p.m.
