(Atlantic) The Atlantic girls’ basketball team raced out to a 16-0 first-quarter lead and never trailed in a 64-42 win at Creston on Tuesday night.

Harter came out firing in the first quarter with 12 points, and Maddie Richter splashed down a long-range bomb to spark the Trojans to a 21-6 lead. The Panthers packed the middle in the second quarter and held Harter at bay with three points. The Trojans received some scoring support from Lila Wiederstein with four and freshman Peyton McLaren with a three-point shot to lead 32-14 at the break.
Harter got things going again in the third frame, scoring eight of the Trojans’ 13 points, and Brynn Tussey knocked down six of the Panthers’ 12 points.
Zoey Kirchhoff and Harter each scored six points in the final frame, Wiederstein added four, and Saathoff knocked down a three-point shot late in the game to secure the 64-42 victory.
