(Cass Co) Griswold City Administrator Sheryl Owen spoke to the Cass County Board of Supervisors this morning about the Splash Pad and Lift Station projects and requested ARPA funds.
Owen said they plan to build a 1,500 sq. ft. Splash pad, along with a restroom and open air shelter, in the area where the wooden playground is at.
Owen said they have raised $112,000 already. The total project cost is $696,146.
Owen, who is also Vice President of the Noble Initiative Community Foundation, spoke about the lift station project in the Land of Oz Housing Development area near the new Child Development Center.
As far as the housing development, Owen said there are 15 lots for sale ranging in price from $30,000 to $40,000, depending on the lot size. One lot has already sold.
These projects are just a couple of the many exciting things going on in the City of Griswold.
Owen requested ARPA funds in the amount of $10,000 for the splash pad and $227,400 for the lift station, but said she would take any amount the Supervisors were willing to give. The Supervisors did not take action on the requests at this time.
Owen noted that the City of Griswold has put in $500,000 and they did a $600,000 CD for these projects.
