(Atlantic) Healthy Cass County will bring together local and regional substance misuse, recovery, behavioral health, healthcare, and social service providers for a Substance Misuse & Recovery Resource Roundtable on Monday, September 14, at noon at the Cass County Community Center in Atlantic.
Grace McAfee of Healthy Cass County said the meeting is designed to strengthen connections between the organizations that serve Cass County residents and create a better understanding of the resources available to individuals and families affected by substance misuse and related challenges.
Organizations participating in the conversation include Heartland Family Services, ZION Integrated Behavioral Health, Methodist Jennie Edmundson Behavioral Health, Midwest Recovery Center, Iowa Primary Care, and additional community and regional partners.
Rather than a traditional meeting with a series of presentations, the event will be an interactive roundtable discussion. Each participating organization will have an opportunity to briefly introduce their organization and share information about the services they provide. The group will then engage in an open conversation about the substance misuse and recovery resources available throughout Cass County and the surrounding region.
While the meeting is being held in Cass County, participation is not limited to organizations located within the county. Organizations that provide substance misuse prevention, treatment, recovery, behavioral health, healthcare, social services, law enforcement, emergency services, or other support to Cass County residents are encouraged to participate.
The connections and information gathered during the roundtable will help Healthy Cass County better understand the substance misuse and recovery resource landscape in the community and identify opportunities for continued collaboration among local and regional partners.
Community members are encouraged to attend and share their perspectives. Attendees are also welcome to extend this invitation to others who might find interest in this topic.
