(Pottawattamie Co.) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors has proclaimed September 7-11 as National Payroll Week.
The week recognizes the dedication, knowledge and professionalism of payroll professionals and the important role they play in workplaces and communities.
Pottawattamie County Auditor Mary Ann Hanusa recognized the county’s payroll staff for their work supporting more than 500 county employees.
The proclamation notes that payroll professionals ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while complying with federal, state and local laws and regulations. They also handle wages, benefits, taxes and other deductions, providing an important connection between employees and employers.
This year’s National Payroll Week theme is “Every Paycheck Creates Possibility,” recognizing that each paycheck helps employees meet daily needs, plan for the future and pursue personal and financial goals.
The Board of Supervisors extended its appreciation to Pottawattamie County’s payroll professionals for their work behind the scenes to support county employees and public services.
