(Bedford) The Fremont-Mills girls dominated the field at Tuesday’s Corner Conference Track and Field meet in Bedford, scoring 214 points. Griswold placed second with 101. The Knights won the boys’ meet with 158 points; Bedford finished a close second with 143.
Girls Meet:
Lana Alley led Fremont-Mills with an outstanding performance, capturing four individual titles. The senior topped the field in the 100 meters (12.76), 200 meters (26.33), 100-meter hurdles (15.00), and also claimed the long jump title with a best jump of 16-3.25. Reese Gute finished second in the 100, and 200 meters in 13.44, and 26.33. Carlie Nuckolls won the 400 meters in 1:02.00-, and 400-meter hurdles in 1:08.60. Sophia Housch finished second in the 800 meters in 3:52.94. Madelynn Schaaf post second place finishes in the 1500 and 3000. Hayleigh Mattox won the discus (108-07) and shot put (37-09.00). The Knights won the 800-sprint medley, (2:03.95), and the shuttle hurdle relay, (1:08.18).
Griswold got strong performances from Alex Steinhoff and Carsyn Adams. Steinhoff claimed titles in the 800 meters (2:42.49) and the 1500 meters (5:33.94). Adams turned in three runner-up finishes, placing second in the 100-meter hurdles (16.56), 400-meter hurdles (1:10.36), and 400 meters (1:04.27). The Tigers also finished second in both the 4×400-meter relay and the distance medley relay, while taking third in the sprint medley relay and shuttle hurdle relay. Ella Gade added third-place finishes in the discus and shot put.
Other top performances at the meet included Ella Sandahl of Essex winning the 3000 meters (11:51.12), while Essex also took first in the 4×800-meter relay (11:43.23). Stanton captured wins in the 4×100-meter relay (53.13) and the distance medley (4:39.60). East Mills secured victory in the 4×200-meter relay (1:56.27), and Bedford won the 4×400-meter relay in 4:36.73. Alexis Perkins of Bedford won the discus with a throw of 108-07, and Leilanie Foster-Saye of Stanton cleared 5-00 to win the high jump.

Fremont-Mills was powered by several key contributors, highlighted by JW Linkenhoker’s first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with an impressive 14.51—four-tenths of a second faster than his previous season-best of 14.92. The senior also added a runner-up finish in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:00.32. Anderson Carter claimed the 3200-meter title in 11:35 and placed second in the 1600 meters (5:21.34). The Knights captured the distance medley relay in 4:18.83 and added second-place finishes in both the shuttle hurdle relay and the 4×400. In the field events, Gavin Crom won the shot put (43-04.50), with Aidan Roberts finishing second (42-11.00). Paxton Campbell contributed a pair of runner-up finishes in the long jump (19-00.50) and the 400 meters (55.92).
Bedford turned in a strong showing as well, with Hayden Riedel winning the 400 meters in 53.83. Kaleb Johnson and Camden Powell went one-two in the 800 meters with times of 2:08.12 and 2:16.07, while Johnson also took the 1600 meters in 5:18.74. Kase Coleman captured the long jump (20-7.50). The Bulldogs also won the sprint medley relay (1:38.07), 4×100 relay (47.50), 4×800 relay (9:46.11), and shuttle hurdle relay (1:03.09).
East Mills was led by Jiri Brodigan, who swept the 100 and 200 meters in 11.63 and 23.70, respectively, and anchored the winning 4×200-meter relay team (1:40.83) alongside Reed, Burdic, and Jackson. Teammate Khayden Poorker added a victory in the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.32).
For Griswold, RJ Dishong won the discus with a throw of 136-03.00, while Brayden Beck placed third (126-00.00). Wyatt Silk finished second in the 100-meter hurdles (15.47), Quentyn Ruchti-Wilson was second in the 3000 meters (11:36.71), and Callen Keiser placed third in the 400-meter hurdles (1:01.63). The Tigers took third in the shuttle hurdle relay (1:09.18) with Laverty, Keiser, Silk, and Johnson, and finished fourth in the 800-sprint medley (1:53.99), 4×100 relay (48.54), and 4×200 relay (1:46.96).
Sidney’s team of Johnson, Lang, Ward, and Bell won the 4×400-meter relay in 3:52.99, while Isaiah Sholes of Essex cleared 6-03 to win the high jump.
