(Cedar Rapids) The Nodaway Valley girls basketball team took on Springville on Saturday in Cedar Rapids as part of Rivalry Saturday. The Wolverines suffered an 88-53 defeat. Springville is ranked 4th in Class 1A and Nodaway Valley entered as the #2 team in Class 2A.
Three Nodaway Valley players finished in double figures. Maddax DeVault scored 15, Lindsey Davis had 13, and Annika Nelson scored 10. DeVault passes Josie Clarke on the Wolverines career scoring list with 1,300 points. Springville powered their way to 28 2nd quarter points to open up a 49-29 halftime lead. It’s Nodaway Valley’s first regular season loss since January 20th, 2020.
Nodaway Valley hosts Creston on Friday and then competes at the Prep Girls Hoops Shootout in Johnston next Saturday against Westwood.
