The Cass County Coalition for Mental Wellness will host a Mental Wellness Panel on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the Griswold Community Building (601 2nd Street, Griswold, Iowa 51535). A free meal will be provided at 5:30 pm. The presentation will begin at 6:00 pm. Community members of all ages are welcome to join as we discuss resiliency strategies, emotional support for our youth, and local resources for therapy and crisis situations. No pre-registration is required.

The Cass County Master Gardeners will be holding their Annual Spring Plant Sale at the Cass County Community Building, 805 W 10th Street in Atlantic, on Saturday, May 11 from 8 to 10AM or until sold out. Master Gardeners will bring plants, primarily perennials, from their own gardens for this sale, along with a variety of garden decor items, pots, tools, and gardening books. Atlantic FFA and horticulture students will be selling started vegetable and annual flowering plants.

The Cass County Local Food Policy meeting is Monday, May 13 at 4:30 p.m. at the Cass County Extension Office in Atlantic.
The Cass County Local Food Policy Council promotes a local food system that supports the health and well-being of Cass County residents. The Council builds networks among people engaged in all aspects of food, supports local food activities, and makes reports and recommendations for improving food policies. The Council is appointed by the Cass County Board of Supervisors. For more information on the Council

On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. the Clarinda Police Department will conduct a memorial service at the Clarinda Cemetery Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to pay tribute to law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. The members of the Clarinda Police Department cordially invite the public to attend the memorial service and pay tribute to those law enforcement officers who have given their lives in the line of duty. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be cancelled.
