(Cass Co.) The Cass County Board of Supervisors approved a proclamation designating November 4-11, 2026, as Operation Green Light for Veterans Week in Cass County.
Board Chair Steve Baier read the proclamation, which states that Cass County residents have great respect, admiration, and gratitude for the men and women who have selflessly served the country and community in the armed forces. It also recognizes the contributions and sacrifices of service members in preserving the freedoms and way of life enjoyed by citizens.
The proclamation notes that approximately 200,000 service members transition to civilian communities each year and that those leaving active military service face an increased risk of suicide during their first year after service.
In recognition of their sacrifices, Cass County is designating November 4-11 as a time to salute and honor veterans transitioning from active service.
The county also encourages residents and businesses to participate by displaying a green light in a window at their home or place of business from November 4-11 to honor those who have made immeasurable sacrifices to preserve freedom.
