(Pottawattamie Co.) Pottawattamie County Conservation Executive Director Jeff Franco presented an installment payment check for Crescent Hill at Hitchcock to the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday.
Franco explained that shortly after the county acquired what was then known as the Mt. Crescent Ski Area, the conservation department asked the board for upfront funding to make key infrastructure investments.
Franco said the latest payment brings the total amount repaid to the Board of Supervisors toward the loan to $627,805.
Pottawattamie County purchased the Mt. Crescent Ski Area on December 30, 2021. The 106-acre property is located directly south of Hitchcock Nature Center.
Now known as Crescent Hill at Hitchcock, the property offers skiing and snowboarding, sledding, and special events.
