(Guthrie Center, IA) — Guthrie County formally approved a 28E Agreement with Adair County for providing health services at Tuesday’s supervisors meeting. Director of Health Services Jotham Arbor says it is only for one year because the state is looking at the regionalization of county led health services and things may by the end of the year. Adair County needed health services after their director recently departed
Arbor says the agreement has been reviewed and approved by the Guthrie County attorney; he says they will not cover everything in Adair County because that would necessitate hiring new personnel
Arbor says they will have staff in Adair County 1 or 2 times a week. Arbor says the current public health system in Adair County was run through the hospital. Guthrie County also has an agreement for public health services in Audubon County but they absorbed their staff at the time.
The Supervisors voted 5-0 to approve the agreement.
