(Atlantic) Atlantic softball standout Ally Anderson will be inducted into the Trojan Softball Hall of Fame during a ceremony held before the Atlantic vs. Carlisle varsity game on Friday, June 5.
Anderson becomes the newest member of the Trojan Softball Hall of Fame, joining Joel Simms, Betty Jo Schope, Sharon Hoffmann, Michelle McLaren, Kristi Wright, Angie Jenkins, Claire Markham, Karen Hoffmann, the late Mel Allen, Missy Worth-Goergen, ReAnn Cappel, and Shelly Glynn-Pellett.
During her five-season career, Anderson established herself as one of the most dominant players in program history. In the pitching circle, her 923 career strikeouts rank among the best in Trojan history, with her single-season totals ranking second, third, fourth, tenth, and fifteenth all-time. She issued just 100 walks while facing more than 4,000 batters and also ranks among the program’s top five in earned run average, highlighted by a remarkable 1.13 ERA in 2018.
At the plate, Anderson was equally impressive. She ranks in the top 10 all-time in both batting average and home runs, compiling a .396 career batting average with 14 home runs and 159 RBIs.
Her accomplishments helped lead Atlantic to some of the most successful seasons in program history. Anderson recorded 27 wins in 2017 as the Trojans set a program record with 33 victories. She also delivered one of the program’s most memorable performances, pitching Atlantic to a 6-3 victory over Estherville-LC for the school’s first state tournament win.
Anderson earned unanimous First Team Hawkeye Ten All-Conference honors three times and was named Second Team All-Conference once. She also received 3A West All-District recognition three times, earned Second Team All-State honors once, and was selected First Team All-State twice.
Following her graduation from Atlantic High School in 2018, Anderson continued her softball career at DMACC, where she helped lead the Bears to a run in the NJCAA Division II World Series.
Today, Anderson lives in Bridgewater and works at Ultra Ova in Adair.
