(Logan, IA) — Logan Magnolia softball only went 11-7 last season but the Panthers have seven wins in the first two and half weeks of 2026 and went from being unranked in Class 2A to number three in the state. A big part of that is the domination of Senior Pitcher Campbell Chase who has a 2.00 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 42 innings and is hitting .429 with 10 RBI. Head Coach Jamie Evans says she is taking a stronger mental approach
The Panthers are hitting better too. Junior Graceyn Stone is batting .500 with 1 HR and 4 RBI; Senior Maci Bartelsen is only hitting .227 but has one HR and 3 RBI; and there are three freshmen who have stepped up their game — Whitney Hawkins hit .118 last year but is at .286 right now; Ella Hack hit.059 last year but is hitting .316 now; and Addyson Leslie was zero for one last year and is at a .333 clip this year and they are all starters
Lo-Ma has beaten up on some teams and then got a walkoff win over Exira EHK Audubon on Tuesday night and Evans says that was a big deal
Logan Magnolia still has to face Riverside and Missouri Valley twice but is now in the thick of the Western Iowa Conference race — the Panthers play at Underwood tonight.
