(Anita, IA) — CAM used its home course advantage to advance to the Class 1A Districts in the Sectional golf tournament on Wednesday. Earlham won with a score of 302 with three golfers in the top four. Coon Rapids Bayard was 2nd with a 312 while the Cougars were third with a 316.
Kamden Wahlert and Braxton Dennis each had the low round for CAM with a 77 — Wahlert was 6th and Dennis 7th. Kason Calhoun was 9th with a 78; Kayden Winther 20th with an 84; Madden Cary 22nd with an 84; and Erik Almelian 29th with an 87.
Konnar Stiles of Earlham was the winner with a 74; Blaine Vanderheiden of Earlham 2nd with a 75; Gavin Heiderscheit of CRB 3rd with a 75; Brodie Hamilton of Earlham 4th with a 75; and Sayer Bireline-Huss of AC/GC qualified for districts with a 77. Austin Rasmussen of Exira EHK also qualified for districts as the 2nd at large with a score of 78 and finished 10th.
Audubon finished in a disappointing 4th place — low round for the Wheelers was Sully McClain with an 80 which was 13th place.
Districts will be on Monday, May 18 at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge — tee time is at 10:00 am.
