(Walnut) The City of Walnut has announced that its splash pad will remain closed for the upcoming summer season due to water conservation efforts.
City officials say they have been working extensively on Walnut’s water plan and are preparing for upcoming projects to replace the current system. As a result, conserving water has become a priority in the months ahead.
In addition, the Walnut Fire Department will not be filling private swimming pools after June 1st as part of the conservation measures.
City leaders acknowledged the inconvenience and apologized to residents, but encouraged families to explore nearby options, including the public pool in Avoca or the splash pad in Atlantic.
