(Adair Co.) The Adair County Board of Supervisors set the third public hearing date for an ordinance regulating the siting, construction, operation, and decommissioning of data center and cryptocurrency mining facilities in unincorporated Adair County.
Following last week’s second public hearing, the board asked the public whether it should proceed with a third public hearing or continue the temporary moratorium.
The proposed ordinance would require data centers to be at least 1,000 feet from property lines and 2,600 feet from occupied homes. It also establishes noise standards, permanent foundation requirements, decommissioning requirements, and financial assurances.
The third public hearing is set for December 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at the Adair County Courthouse.
