(Adams Co.) Two people were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop in Adams County.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop near Highway 34 and Highway 148 at 12:10 a.m. on April 17th. Adams County K9 Midge was utilized, and controlled substances and various drug paraphernalia were located within the vehicle, along with a large amount of U.S. currency.
The driver, 42-year-old Jennifer Wilcox, of Ottumwa, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd (Methamphetamine), Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Offense (Marijuana), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving While License Suspended/Cancelled.
The passenger, 44-year-old Joshua Heilman, of Ottumwa, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute (Marijuana), Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp, Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (Marijuana), Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd (Methamphetamine), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Heilman also had outstanding warrants out of Wapello County for five counts of Controlled Substance Violations, four counts of Failure to Affix Tax Stamp, two counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Eluding, and Driving While Suspended.
Wilcox and Heilman were transported to the Adams County Jail.
In other activity, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year-old Franklynn Taute, of Corning, on April 20th for Sexual Assault and Sexual Abuse. He was transported to the Adams County Jail.
