(Atlantic) The Atlantic City Council has approved the sale of a city-owned vacant lot and two street closure requests for upcoming holiday events.
The council approved an order directing the city attorney to prepare the sale of the property at 7 West 11th Street to Clark Knop for $5,000.
Knop submitted the only bid for the property and plans to construct a high-quality residential garage valued at approximately $53,479. The purchase price meets the minimum threshold outlined in the city’s land disposal policy. Knop’s proposed garage meets the design standards of the city’s recently adopted stand-alone garage ordinance.
The council also approved street closures for two upcoming holiday events organized by the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce.
North Chestnut Street, between Cappel’s Ace Hardware and Atlantic Bottling, will be closed from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, November 19th, for the annual Grand Lighting Ceremony. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
Additionally, several streets will be closed from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, December 6th, for the 2026 Lighted Parade. Parade lineup begins at 5 p.m., with the event starting at 6 p.m.
