(Shenandoah) The Atlantic Softball team bounced back after Wednesday’s loss to Creston. The Trojans jumped out to an 8-0 Led through the first six innings, the Fillies responded with two runs in the bottom of the sixth, and the Trojans closed out the game with five more runs in the top of the seventh for the 13-2 victory.
Zoey Kirchhoff led Atlantic at the plate going 4-5 with a double, Lila Wiederstein, 3-4 with two runs scored, Claire Schroder, 2-3 with a triple, and McKenna Sonntag 1-2 with a double, and three runs scored.
Atlantic Head Coach Terry Hinzmann says the Trojans had a much better outing against an improved Shenandoah team. Zoey Kirchhoff and Peyton McLaren combined for a one-hit 13-2 win.
The Trojans face off against Estherville-Lincoln Central at 3:30 p.m. and Carlisle at 7:00 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on 95.7 FM and live-streamed on WesternIowaToday.com TV and YouTube.
