(Marion, IN) Former Atlantic standout Craig Becker placed 8th in the 1500-meter finals for Dordt University at the 43rd Annual NAIA National Championships on Friday at Marion, Indiana.
Seeded 22nd overall and coming into the 2024 championship as a provisional qualifier, Becker placed eighth and took home All-American honors in the 1500m. Becker’s time of 3:51.99 is just .18 off his school-record time he ran in Thursday’s semifinal.
Craig Becker finished off the season with back-to-back outstanding performances. He shined in the GPAC Conference Track and Field Meet in early May, winning two championships, taking home first place in the 1500 Meters and as a member of the 4×800 Meter Relay team. Becker anchored the 4×800 with a come-from-behind anchor leg, clocking a 58.96 on his final 400-meter lap to lead the Defenders’ relay team to victory in a time of 7:45.85.
