(Muscatine, Iowa) Three people suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Muscatine County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at around 6:41 p.m. on Highway 61 and Sweetland Road. Authorities identified the victims as 51-year-old Marciela Nunez of Cicero, Illinois, 52-year-old Mark Lawrence from Fruitland, Iowa, and 24-year-old Robert Mendozamonia of Cicero, Illinois.
According to the report, A 2013 Hyundai driven by 51-year-old Marciela Nunez was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 61, attempting to conduct a U-Turn, and struck the front passenger side of a southbound 2023 Dodge Ram pickup driven by 52-year-old Mark Lawrence.
Ground ambulance transported Nunez and Lawrence to Unity Point in Muscatine. The University of Iowa Aircare transported Mendozamonia, a passenger in the Hyundai, to the University of Iowa Hospital.
