(Iowa City, IA) – Iowa senior Molly Davis has a chance to return back to the hardwood after all for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Davis was injured in the game against Ohio State just last Sunday, suffering a right knee injury that will require her to undergo physical therapy next week.
Head Coach Lisa Bluder made the announcement stating, “While we feel for Molly that she got injured during Senior Day, we are so thankful that the injury she sustained is not season-ending,” said Bluder. “Our program has appreciated everyone’s support and prayers as we look forward to her return at some point during the postseason.”
Molly Davis has not been on a scoring frenzy this season but has provided balance for the Hawkeyes as the “Headband” to the hair of Iowa. She has played in 26 games this season for Iowa, averaging 6.1 points, and 3.1 assists, and leads the team in assist-to-turnover ratio at +2.5.
Iowa returns back to action without Davis for their first game of the Big Ten Conference Tournament as they’ll take on the winner between Wisconsin and Penn State in quarterfinal action on Friday, March 8th at 5:30 p.m.
